This is a video of a man showing how to whittle a spoon with just a knife. I found this very cool because I used to attempt to whittle but never had the necessary skills or patience to whittle. I would like to try this over the summer or in the near future and then use the spoon.

I know we talked about how steam-bending is a little beyond the scope of this assignment, but it looks so cool!

Found out how to use carving tools

If you've done wood shop this should be familiar to you but I've never done it and I thought it might be useful:

A couple things I found

I found this guy, Frank Howarth, whose woodworking projects are amazing. Below is a video of a gorgeous bowl he made. I love the pattern.

For woodworking basics, see below how to do a jigsaw plunge cut technique when you want to cut the inner portions out of a wood piece. I want to try it out next class.

Wood Joinery Basics

Hi all,
I found a video that discusses the basics of wood joinery. 4 basic ways to join wood are shown and it's interesting to see how wood can be joined without using metal fasteners. Pretty cool stuff.
